HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Women's Soccer Team will hit the pitch again tonight against Providence at 6 p.m. in Nelson Stadium.
Carroll enters tonight's match off the heels of a weekend with back-to-back games against Canadian schools. The Saints played Mount Royal to a 1-1 tie on Saturday, and scored a shutout victory on Sunday against the University of Lethbridge.
Carroll will look to build off the momentum of the 3-0 win on Sunday, where their offense looked notably sharper than their previous games. Increased pressure on the net was a focus for the Saints, and it paid-off for them.
Forward
Blair Stapleton (Billings, Mont. / SR) was responsible for two of the goals on Sunday, a pair of headers, and looks to repeat the performance tonight.
A new face to the Carroll program made her impact felt on the left side of the field last game.
Aryana Jones (Lathrop, Calif. / FR) had a tremendous showing, and Head Coach Dave Thorvilson is excited about her potential.
Tonight's match is a bit unconventional, with the pair of Cascade Collegiate Conference schools playing each other in a non-conference game.
The Argonauts will come to Helena off of a 2-1 loss to Mount Royal last weekend, in their lone game of the season.
For those unable to catch the action in person, tonight's game will be streamed on the
Fighting Saints Network, and
live stats will also be available.
