Pocatello, Idaho – Carroll College Track & Field competed well on Day 1 at the Mountain States Games at Idaho State University.
Nikki Krueger won the Shot Put with a lifetime best, moving into 2
nd overall in the NAIA for this indoor season.
Elias Hill and
Paige Baxstresser made finals in the 60m Dash against a difficult field, and Chris Abell made the final in the 60 Hurdles. Multiple other athletes achieved indoor or college personal bests including
Sophie Loveless and Baxstresser in the Long Jump,
Drake Schake in the Shot Put,
Kailen Herbstritt in the Pole Vault, and
Zach Rector in the 5000m.
The Distance Medley Relays provided excitement at the end of the day's meet. The Saints women bordered the NAIA standard for Nationals and will have to wait until the meet's closure to determine whether they qualified based on altitude conversions.
