WHITEFISH, Mont. -- Frontier Conference Commissioner Kent Paulson announced the 2020-21 Frontier Conference All-Conference Volleyball teams, individual award winners, and Champions of Character on Monday. Carroll Volleyball was represented by six players.
Â
Taelyr Krantz and
Lexi Mikkelsen received first team all-conference honors, while
Julia Carr and
Ali Williams made second team all-conference. Carr also was selected to the All-Freshman team, along with
Lexie Gleasman.
Madi Quick was Carroll's NAIA Champions of Character recipient.
Â
Taelyr Krantz, a junior from Helena, Mont., was the leading attacker for the Saints this season finishing second in the Frontier in both kills (259) and attacking percentage (.293). This is the second year in a row that Taelyr has been named first team all-conference.
Â
Lexi Mikkelsen, a junior from Nine Mile Falls, Wash., finished second on the team and sixth in the conference in kills with 235 on the year. Much like Krantz, this is also Mikkelsen's second straight time making first team all-conference.Â
Â
After an impressive senior campaign,
Ali Williams landed her way onto the all-conference second team for the second straight season. Williams, a setter from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, totaled 295 assists this season as well as 104 kills. Â
Â
Julia Carr, a freshman from Portland, Ore., was selected as a member of the all-conference second team after making an immense impact on the back-line this season for the Saints. In addition to all-conference honors as a freshman, Carr also made the Frontier Conference All-Freshman team. Carr was the Frontier Conference leader in service aces with 26 and finished the season third in digs with 82.
Â
Joining Carr on the all-freshman team is
Lexie Gleasman. Gleasman joined the Saints this year as a transfer from University of Montana. She is a redshirt freshman from Chelan, Wash., who provided the Saints with 180 kills in her first year with the program.
Â
The Saints' recipient for the NAIA Champions of Character was
Madi Quick. Quick, a senior from Helena, has been a staple for the Saints defense over the last four seasons. In her senior year, she totaled 242 digs and 12 service aces. Quick was a team captain and someone who set a great example to her teammates of what it means to be a Carroll Saint.Â
