HELENA, Mont. - Carroll College is proud to host the 2025 Frontier Conference Volleyball Championship, taking place Thursday, November 13 - Saturday, November 15 at the Carroll College PE Center.
Following a first-ever 22-game conference slate with the addition of six new member institutions this summer, the Frontier Conference Volleyball season has reached its final stage - with eight of the top teams in the league descending on the PE Center for a single elimination battle for the league's second automatic qualifier for the upcoming NAIA Volleyball Championship.
Providence (28-2) won the regular season outright title for the second consecutive year with 21-1 Frontier Conference record. The Argos will be the No. 1 seed and receive the first of the two Frontier's automatic bids to the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Tournament Opening Round after winning the regular season title.
Bellevue (24-3) secured the No. 2 seed in the postseason tournament after posting a 20-2 record in the Frontier Conference. MSU-Northern (17-11) earned a No. 3 seed with a 15-7 Frontier Conference record.
There was a three-way tie for fourth place in the Frontier Conference standings with Dakota State (16-12), Montana Tech (16-12), and Carroll (17-13) with each recording 12-10 conference record. All three teams also received votes recognition in the NAIA national poll.
DSU, MT, and CC went 2-2 record amongst the three teams. The Trojans earned the tiebreaker over the Orediggers and Saints with ten sets won, securing the No. 4 seed for the postseason tournament. Montana Tech owned the tiebreaker over Carroll, via set points won. Both teams split their two conference meetings in 3-0 sweeps, with the Orediggers scoring 141 total points to the Saints 131 total points in those six sets. MT will be the No. 5 seed, followed by CC No. 6 seed.
Valley City State (13-14) and Montana Western (13-16) were tied for seventh in the Frontier Conference standings with an 11-11 conference record. The Vikings won the tiebreaker over the Bulldogs via number of sets won (4-3). VCSU will be the No. 7 seed, while UMW will be the No. 8 seed.
The tournament kicks off Thursday afternoon with four quarterfinal matches, starting with No. 1 seed Providence taking on No. 8 seed Montana Western at 12 p.m. No. 4 seed Dakota State faces No. 5 seed Montana Tech at 2:30 p.m.Â
The evening session on Thursday will feature No. 2 seed Bellevue vs No. 7 Valley City State at 5 p.m. and the nightcap featuring No. 3 seed MSU-Northern taking on No. 6 seed Carroll at 7:30 p.m.
Friday's semifinals are set for 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., followed by the championship match at 7 p.m. on Saturday evening.
The second Frontier Conference automatic bid will go to the tournament champion. In the event if the Argos win the postseason tournament, the second automatic bid will be awarded to the tournament's runner-up.
The two Frontier Conference automatic bids will play in the NAIA National Tournament Opening Round on Nov. 22, with the winners moving on to the final site at Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa, from Dec. 3 through Dec. 9 (pool play followed by single elimination bracket).
Tickets for the Championship are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors/students each day. Students from each institution receive free entry with a valid school ID. All tickets will be sold at the gate, with no online ticketing available.
