BILLINGS, Mont. -- The Carroll College Women's Soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 loss to Rocky Mountain College in Billings on Sunday afternoon.
Carroll's offense was effective in creating chances on the offensive side of the ball, attempting 12 shots, 10 of which were on target, and one of which resulted in a Hannah Mitchell score in the eighth minute of the game.
Unfortunately, Rocky responded well to the early score by the Saints. They themselves tallied 14 shots, 11 of which were on target. The Bears' Halle Labert scored in the 67th minute to level things at one a piece.
90 minutes wasn't enough to determine an outcome of the match, but in double overtime, Hannah Borgel found the back of the net to clinch a Bears victory.
Again Sarah Conway played well in goal for the Saints with nine saves, tying her counterpart Maia Wetzel, who also tallied nine saves for the Bears.
Carroll moves to 1-2-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference while Rocky moves up to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in conference.
The Saints will meet up with the Bears again tomorrow at noon. The game will be streamed at https://www.meridix.com/live.php?liveid=BattlinBears.
