La GRANDE, ORE. -- After defeating the Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears 14-12 last weekend in Billings, the Carroll College Football team will hit the road once more to face off with Eastern Oregon in La Grande, Ore., with kickoff schedule for 2 p.m. MST.
In a shortened four-game spring schedule, this will be the last road game for the Saints before they finish off the year with back-to-back home games.
Through one game, the Saints have already seen strong performances on both sides of the ball. Matthew Burgess, a sophomore running back from Junction City, Ore., picked up right where he left off in his first game as a sophomore last weekend, earning Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. Burgess totaled 146 rushing yards and 121 receiving yards, to go with a receiving touchdown, in a winning effort. On defense, it was Safety TJ Abraham, a junior from Powell, Wyo., who was named Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Abraham had 13 total tackles, two pass breakups, one interception, and forced/recovered a fumble last week.
Carroll is looking for their first win in the state of Oregon since 2014.
Saturday's game will be the first game of the season for Eastern Oregon after they had last weekend off.
Stewart Davis will be on the call for the radio broadcast on Rewind 94.9 FM with the pre-game show starting at 1:30 p.m. You can listen online at https://network1sports.com/station/espnradio.
