Spearfish, S.D. – The Saints heptathletes performed well at the Yellow Jacket Holiday Open over the past two days, and
Lee Walburn won the meet.
All three competitors earned personal records for their overall scores with Walburn in 1
st (5002),
Brett Glaser in 3
rd (4649), and
Elias Hill in 7
th (4028). The group saw many individual personal records over the seven event competition. Each achieved a new top mark in the 60 meter dash and shot put, and Glaser and Hill also slated personal records in the 1000 meter run, 60 meter hurdles, and high jump.
"I was very happy with all three of the athletes," said Head Coach
Harry Clark. "Lee & Brett will be towards the top in the nation with their scores, and Eli did great in his first ever heptathlon."
To qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships, heptathletes must achieve one of the Top 16 marks nationally over the course of the season. The Saints trio and the remainder of the track & field squad will go to work over the next six weeks in preparation for three more indoor meets in early 2022.
