Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field continues the outdoor season at the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Open in Billings, Mont. this Saturday.
Carroll Track will travel 46 athletes to the meet including
Cori Hatfield (400 Hurdles),
Brooke McClenning (Shot Put, Discus), and Abigail Peterson (Shot Put, Discus, Javelin) who will compete in their overall debut for the Saints. Several competitors will also take the oval for the first time this outdoor season:
Elly Machado (800m, 4x400m Relay),
Natalie Yocum (800m, 4x400m Relay),
Brette Graham (100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles),
Crisha Polk (Shot Put, Discus),
Avery Tripp (400m, 4x400m Relay), Kamden Hillborn (100 Hurdles, Pole Vault),
Shamrock Campbell (Long Jump, Triple Jump), and
Kaiden Romney (400m, 4x400m Relay).
Indoor All-American Decathlete
Lee Walburn and last week's Frontier "Field Athlete of the Week"
Brett Glaser will be loading up events.
Chad Hemsley and
Nikki Krueger have qualified for NAIA Nationals with a B Standard in the 400 Hurdles and Shot Put respectively, and they'll be looking to improve their marks and achieve the A Standard. Last year's national qualifiers
Chloe Gallagher (Pole Vault),
Madde Boles (High Jump, 200m, 4x100m Relay),
Josh Malone (High Jump),
Kate Picanco (800m, 4x400m Relay), and
Reghan Worley (1500m, 800m) will also be back in action for their second meet of the season. The men's 4x400m Relay narrowly missed qualifying for Nationals at the Al Manuel Invite, so it will be a focus for the Saints again Saturday.
"Last weekend was a great meet so we're happy to be back competing again this weekend," said Head Coach
Harry Clark. "We're adding more athletes every week and have been putting solid work in, so it will be exciting to see how we improve as a team."
Field events for the Saints begin at 2:00 pm Mountain Time on Saturday, and running events begin at 4:00 pm.
