No. 20 CC WBB storms by LCSC, 99-48

HELENA, Mont. -- Danielle Wagner posted a season-high 24 points, five other Fighting Saints joined her in double figures, and No. 20-ranked Carroll College dominated Lewis-Clark State College 99-48 on Saturday in the PE Center during the Thanksgiving Classic.

The Saints (5-0) outscored the Warriors (1-1) 53-11 in the second half of the contest.

Carroll shot 51% from the field and 45% from the three-point line in the game. It was a major improvement from deep for Carroll, which shot just 17% a day earlier against Valley City State University.

"We're not going to shoot 4-for-24 again," Saints coach Rachelle Sayers said. "It goes both ways. Last night we had 1-2-3 misses, and then tonight the first couple go and it gets contagious the other way."

Sienna Swannack started the downtown barrage, hitting three in the opening minute. Then, Kamden Hilborn added one before Wagner dropped in another. The Saints kept their offensive touch going the entire game.

Wagner, the senior from Havre Montana, fired in six of her eight three-point tries, and finished 9-for-12 overall from the field.

"It was awesome," Wagner said. "I think all together our team did a lot better today executing. We all shot well today. The energy is contagious when one of us gets going."

Maddie Geritz (13), Swannack (12) Kamden Hilborn (11), Christine Denny (11) and Genesis Wilkinson (10) all recorded double-figure scoring nights as well. Wilkinson's 10 points were her career-high. Carroll once again displayed its depth throughout the game. Essentially every Carroll unit on the court found advantages against LCSC. The Saints' bench outscored LCSC's 33-13.

"I think our depth really helped us the last two games," Sayers said. "Our bench was huge for us. Especially Genesis and Maddie really came in and gave us big minutes."

The Saints and Warriors could square off again in Lewiston, Idaho, later this season.

The Saints will turnaround quickly and head to Corvallis, Oregon, to face Oregon State in an exhibition on Monday. The game is slated to be broadcast via the Pac-12 Network
