No. 6 CC WBB uses big 4th to put away Tech

HELENA, Mont. -- The No. 6-ranked Carroll College Fighting Saints women's basketball team kept its unbeaten streak alive, polishing off Montana Tech 68-57 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

It also marked the Saints' first conference game of the season. 

Danielle Wagner posted a game-high 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting, scoring eight of her points in a decisive fourth quarter for the Saints.

Carroll outscored the Orediggers 23-6 in the final period. 

Christine Denny also had a big game for Carroll with 15 points, while Sienna Swannack and Jamie Pickens each scored nine. 

Montana Tech was led by Mollie People's 13 points, nine below her season average entering the game. 

The Saints had an up-and-down night from the field until exploding in the fourth quarter to shoot 54% to seal the game. For the game, Carroll shot 37% from the field and 31% from deep. 

Tech went 46% from the field and just 23% from deep. 

Ten different Saints contributed, while eight of those scored. 

The Saints next head to Lewis-Clark State College for a pair of games on Saturday and Sunday. Tipoff times are 6 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
