Carroll women's soccer faces ESC, NU at home

HELENA, Mont. -- Riding a streak of five games unbeaten, the Carroll College women's soccer team is set to open Cascade Collegiate Conference play on Friday against Evergreen State College and Northwest. 

The Saints host Evergreen (2-2) on Friday at 2 p.m. The Geoducks have wins this season over Douglas (Canada) and Minnesota-Morris and losses to Pacific Lutheran and Pacific (Oregon). Maddie Lockwood has been the biggest scoring threat for Evergreen this season, recording three goals and two assists. 

A season ago, the Geoducks posted a 3-14 record, including 2-10 in the conference. 

The Saints will battle Northwest on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Northwest (4-2) enters CCC-play on a four-game winning streak. The Eagles have defeated Northwest Nazarene, Puget Sound, Lewis & Clark and Linfield this season, while falling to Fraser Valley and Central Washington. 

Callie Wright is the leading goal scorer for the Eagles with four shots put in the back of the net this season. 

NU finished 13-9 last season.
