HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College track and field teams are headed to Great Falls on Thursday for a last chance to qualify for nationals in the Providence Open. The meet is scheduled to start at 8:30 a.m.
Coach
Harry Clark on what the meet means: "Official last chance, the relays are the big thing. Both for the boys and for the girls. We can get eight more athletes to nationals. We didn't practice yesterday because it was 28 degrees. We think it's a good thing, legs will be fresh. It will be 63 degrees in Great Falls."
Carroll College will take most of its track team, save seven members who will miss the meet due to academic obligations since it's the week before finals. Coach Clark expects the pole vaulters, sprinters and hurdlers to be in the mix for national qualifications on Thursday.
Providence, Rocky, Western, and Montana State-Billings are all expected to participate.
The Saints currently have 10 individuals qualified for nationals in 12 events.
