HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College indoor track and field season begins on Friday in Bozeman, Montana, as the Fighting Saints head to Montana State.
"It's the first meet of the season, we're extremely excited for the possibilities this year," Saints coach
Harry Clark said. "We have some great young freshman that I cannot wait to see them in their first time in a college uniform representing their school."
A season ago, the Saints saw four of their athletes become All-Americans. Noah Majerus earned All-American honors in the 800-meter run, Hannah Porch did so in the long jump, Josh Malone garnered the award in the heptathlon and Kelsey Bassett became an All-American in the pole vault.
Step one toward more All-American honors begins on Friday where the Saints will be looking to qualify for nationals in their first meet of the season. Coach Clark believes the Carroll could see as many as eight qualify for the national indoor meet right out of the gate.
"We have a great young squad and it's going to be fun to watch," Clark said.
The Saints will compete with Montana State, University of Montana and Montana State Billings on Friday. The Saints entered 42 athletes in events for Friday.
The meet begins at 4 p.m. Full results will be available on CarrollAthletics.com.
