HELENA, Mont. -- The Carroll College women's soccer team begins a quest for a third Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship on Tuesday, as the No. 7-seeded Fighting Saints face No. 2-seeded Eastern Oregon at 6 p.m. MST in Springfield, Oregon.
"Excited for the opportunity to keep playing in the postseason," Saints coach
David Thorvilson said. "We get to play one of the top teams in the country on Tuesday but the exciting part about this time of the season is anyone can win."
The Saints faced EOU in the regular season, traveling to La Grande, Oregon, and falling 2-0.
This time around, the Saints enter the game having won five of their past six games.
The Saints are led by
Makayla Welch's eight goals this season. The senior has shown a knack for finding the back of the net.
The Mountaineers (12-2-2) are led in scoring by Nan Kiebert.
A season ago, the Saints fell in a shootout to Rocky Mountain College in the first round of the CCC tournament.
The game can be streamed via the conference's stretch internet portal ($7.95): https://portal.stretchinternet.com/ccc
