HELENA -- The Carroll College Saints swapped goals with Northwest Christian, and then uncorked three consecutive to take a 4-1 victory on Saturday evening in Eugene, Oregon.
McKenna Payne scored first for the Saints, netting a 22-yard free kick into the right corner in the 11th minute.
The Saints (3-5-1, 2-0-1) held that 1-0 margin until the second half.
Northwest Christian scored the equalizer in the 52nd minute.
Talya Vaira gave the Saints the lead for good. The senior scored on a 25-yard shot that settled into the top left corner of the net.
Then,
Payton Netz struck twice on headers set up by -- who else -- Vaira in the 62nd and 68th minute.
Saints goalkeeper
Devan Murfitt made seven saves on the day.
Carroll closed its weekend with a 2-0 record on the road.
The Saints host Multnomah and Warner Pacific on Sept. 28 and 29.
