HELENA, Mont. – The sixth-ranked Carroll College men's basketball team hosts the University of Lethbridge in the return game of an in-season home-and-home series with the Pronghorns.
The two teams met on Oct. 29 and, after trailing by two at half, the Saints rode a huge third quarter to earn a 93-67 win over UL behind double digit performances from
Ryan Imhoff,
Zach Taylor,
Ife Kalejaiye,
Oliver Carr and
Steven Helm.
Lethbridge's Elliott Sentance score 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the way for the Pronghorns.
Since that time, the Saints won six in a row before dropping their first game of the season against Montana Western last Wednesday at the PE Center.
The Pronghorns are 6-4 and are coming off of back-to-back wins over Trinity Western University.
Carroll took 10 days off between games for finals week and to refocus after a tough early-season slate. Head coach Carson Cunningham can see the excitement of his team to get back into action.
"We have finals behind us and I know the fellas are eager to get back on the hardwood for a game," Cunningham said. "Lethbridge is a dangerous, high-scoring operation. They had us down two at half in Canada. They have experienced, talented players who know their system well. We need to be ready."
Sentance averages 19.5 points per game to lead the Pronghorns but Dejon Burdeaux, Zac Overwater and Mike Pierzchala all score in double figures for UL.
Imhoff leads the Saints with 17.6 points per game, Taylor averages 16.4 and
Match Burnham scored 13.4 points per game.
The game is the first of three in five days, two of which will take place on the Gulf Coast when the Saints travel to face Xavier University (La.) on Dec. 19 and the University of Mobile (Ala.) on Dec. 21.
Saturday's game will be broadcast on 94.9 FM ESPN Montana Radio and streamed live on the Carroll youtube channel. Live stats will available via Dakstats.
