Â
"Getting an Eagle Scout, academic force, and dynamic hooper to land on the Hilltop is awesome," Cunningham said. "In addition to having strong values, Steven can shoot the peach, put it on the deck, and defend. And he finished his career at Valparaiso HS -- a school known nationally for its historic shooting -- as the school's all-time leading Free Throw shooter by percentage. We're thrilled to call him a Fighting Saint."Â
Helm is the son of former All-American and Frontier Conference MVP at MSU-Northern, Steve Helm Jr., currently the head women's coach at Calumet College. His mother, Kelly, played volleyball at BYU.
