Carroll Men's Hoops Scores School Record 140 points in Rout of SKC

HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College men's basketball broke the school record for points in a game as the Saints routed Salish Kootenai College 140-73. Senior point guard Zach Taylor also broke the 1,500 career points mark with four points, he didn't play in the second half.
 
Carroll shot 51-80 (63.75 percent) from the field and 13-20 (44.8 percent) from the three-point line. The Saints were 25-28 (89.3 percent) from the free throw line.
 
Salish Kootenai led 3-2 early after a 3-pointer form Aaron Ahenakew but the Saints went on a 7-0 run and never looked back. Carroll led 74-34 at the break and Ryan Imhoff scored 28 points to lead the way. The starters didn't return after the half.
 
Carroll continued the dominance in the second half, outscoring the Bison 66-39 in the second half.
 
Only three Carroll players, Alejandro Santos Piqueras, Patrick Colberg and Dane Warp played over 20 minutes.
 
Eight Carroll players scored in double figures led by Imhoff's 28. Warp had 18, Colberg 17, Match Burnham and Steven Helm scored 16 points each, Piqueras scored 13 and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Oliver Carr had 12 points and Matt Wyman notched 10.
 
Carroll outrebounded the Bison 46-27. The Saints also notched 32 assist, the third time this season that the Saint tallied over 30 assists.
 
Ahenakew led the Bison with 15 points. Sherman Red Tomahawk and Josh Smith notched 14 points each and Leo Bert Honena had 13.

The previous record for points in a game was 138 scored in 1988-89 against Alaska Southeast.  
 
The Saints next host Dickinson State Friday at the PE Center.
