Box Score CALGARY – The Carroll College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the University of Calgary on a penalty kick Saturday in a non-conference road game.
"They are the best team we will play this year," head coach David Thorvilson said. "The University of Calgary has 30,000 students and their skill is comparable to a NCAA D-I team. I am very pleased with how we played."
The Saints and Dinos battled with neither team scoring a goal in the first 60 minutes of the match but a Carroll foul in the box gave the Dinos a PK which rang true for the lone goal.
"They were very fast and very physical,"Thorvilson said. "
Jamie Carter played really well in goal and kept us in the match but they outshot us."
Carroll returns home for a nearly two-week break before traveling to face MSU Billings on Sept. 3.
