Carroll Soccer Hosts UGF Sunday

HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College soccer host the University of Great Falls Sunday with the women kicking off at 1 p.m. and the men following afterward at 3 p.m.
 
The Carroll women's team looks to continue it's winning ways and stay stop the Cascade Conference standings. The Saints are 8-4 overall and 5-1 in Cascade play, tied for the most wins in the conference.
 
Great Falls is 1-3-1 in Cascade and is tied for eighth in the conference for goals scored.  Carroll is the top team in the conference for goals against average with just .48 goals for each 90 minutes.
 
Jamie Carter is second for conference matches in both GAA and Save Percentage and is tied for first in the conference with five shutouts.
 
The Saints are coming off of a 3-0 win over Trinity Lutheran. UGF hosted the Eagles the day after, winning 4-2.
 
The Carroll men are 3-2-1 in Cascade play while UGF is 4-1. The Saints have the second-leading scorer in the conference in Jose Porras and Saints' goalkeeper Conor Smith is tied for third in shutouts. He also has tallied four saves on five penalty kicks faced this season.
 
Carroll defeated Trinity Lutheran 3-1 while the Argos handed TLC a 9-0 setback.
 
The Saints and Argos are in their first season in the Cascade Conference after making the switch from Frontier a season ago along with Rocky Mountain.
