BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech outscored Carroll 47-23 in the second half en route to 80-57 victory over the Saints Saturday evening in Butte.
The Saints closed the first half on a 12-2 run to take the 34-33 lead on a
Nick Williams 15-footer at the buzzer.
The Orediggers then exploded in the second half shooting 18-of-24 from the field (75 percent).
"We just have to play better defense and we have to find a way to pull ourselves out of a rut," head coach
Carson Cunningham said. "For some of our young guys, we're in the think part of the season where it can seem difficult, long and physically demanding and we have to find a way to fight through that."
Zach Taylor led the Saints with 22 points and
Oliver Carr added14.
Carroll falls to 13-7 overall and 2-3 in Frontier play.
The Saints close out the first half of the Frontier conference schedule Saturday Jan. 31 at 7:30 p.m. against Rocky Mountain in Billings.
