HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Soccer team picked up their first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the 2026 season on Thursday evening with a five goal outburst to top Northwest on Valley Bank Field at Nelson Stadium.

The Fighting Saints (2-2-3, 1-0-1) could do no wrong on Thursday, combining for five goals in their best offensive performance of the year, while limiting the Eagles (2-3, 1-2) to just one score in the late stage of the match.

Sophomore Samantha Patch (Liberty Lake, Wash.) opened the scoring for the Saints in the 16th minute, putting away her first goal of the year off an assist from Carmen Anderson (Missoula, Mont. / JR). Patch received a pass at the top of the box, then flipped one over the Northwest keeper to get Carroll on the board.

The Saints would double their advantage heading into the halftime break as Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / R-JR) blasted a strike from nearly 30 yards out following a cross-in from Rachel McAllister (Brier, Wash. / JR).

Just one minute into the second half, Makayla Schnabel (Billings, Mont. / FR) would extend the Carroll lead to three. Schnabel, who had missed the last several games with injury, popped an unassuming Eagle turnover in the box on net, finding net for the second time this season.

The freshman would put away the second goal of her first career brace in the 60th minute following a free kick opportunity. With nearly everyone on the pitch crowded inside the box, Samantha Patch managed to find Schnabel posted up in front of the goal, and the lengthy defender would do the rest to give Carroll a 4-0 lead.

Rachel McAllister got in on the fun in the 69th minute for Carroll, scoring her third goal of the year to give the Saints a brief 5-0 lead. 

Northwest's Kambree Degon would get the Eagles on the board just four minutes later, but the comeback attempt would advance no further as Carroll picked up their first four-goal margin of victory since November of 2024.

Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / SR) posted a clean sheet in her 65 minutes of action, as her and Allison Olson (Lewiston, Idaho / JR) each posted a pair of saves in the win. 

As evidenced by the final score, Carroll controlled the action for much of the evening. The Saints out-shot the Eagles 21-6, with 11 shots on goal.

The Saints will look to finish their early homestand strong, as they host Evergreen State on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m.
