HELENA, Mont. – Head Coach Dan Pearson has officially announced the addition of six players to the Carroll College Men's Basketball roster, set to join the team later this upcoming month.
 
The 2026 class is highlighted by a combination of size and age while still fitting the skill-heavy identity that has been a calling card of first two seasons under Pearson. Following the departures of graduated seniors Aidan McGarvin and Lorence Dela Cruz, and the transfer of '25-26 Frontier Player of the Year Isaiah Crane to Montana State, as well as a few injuries for the Fighting Saints returners, this year's class will feature more transfers than what has been previously seen from Coach Pearson's signings.

"We feel like with the incoming individuals for this class we will give us a versatility in our toolbox that we did not have in previous years." Said Pearson of the '26 class. "Each of these players fits stylistically with how we want to play the game but they all will bring in a certain versatility that will allow for us to manage different matchups throughout the course of the year and moving forward in the long-term, something we struggled with last year. This roster makeup is now unique with its depth and its capacity to stay together over a large window of time. We feel like each of these players complements our style and will be great fits in the locker room, classroom, and the community.

Jack Andela | 6-8 | Forward | Gillette, Wyo. | Campbell County HS

The lone prep signee of the 2026 class, Andela finished a decorated career for the Campbell County Camels this spring. A two-time Wyoming Class 4A First Team All-State selection and 2026 All-Conference honoree, the 6-8 forward capped his high school career by representing Wyoming, despite an ACL injury, in the annual Wyoming-Montana All-Star Series. 

"We couldn't find an individual with a higher ceiling or better fit for what we want to do than Jack Andela." said Pearson "From his recruiting trip-on, our players have called
him 'Baby Jokic' for his unique capacity to merge his insane size, strength, and well-rounded skill set. Jack will be a major player in our program for many years. If it wasn't for
a mid-season injury, Jack would have been a shoe-in as Wyoming's Gatorade Player of the Year. We recognize how much of a steal this young man is for our program, on and
off the court. Helena will quickly know the name of Jack Andela".

Olivier Borgol | 6-8 | Wing/Forward | Berlin, Germany | College of Marin

Borgol arrives on the Hilltop after a dominant sophomore campaign at College of Marin in California, where he averaged 19.4 points and a staggering 13.1 rebounds per game while shooting 52.7 percent from the floor. The Berlin, Germany native started 27 of 28 games for the Mariners, posting 15 games of 20 or more points, 14 games with 15 or more rebounds, and adding 1.7 steals per contest while helping COM end its postseason drought with a playoff berth.

"Olivier will be one of the most dynamic players in the Frontier Conference." said Pearson "His size and athleticism allow for him to play multiple positions defensively and offensively. His numbers at the junior college level in California were out of this world, and there are not many players in the NAIA rolling around as all-state JUCO players from California. Academically and culturally, he is a fantastic fit for what we have been building in our program."

  A two-year starter for the Rustlers, Ormond has been one of the most efficient shooters in NJCAA Region IX. This past season, he averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while knocking down 42.7 percent of his three-point attempts and a remarkable 89.5 percent from the free-throw line. Over his two-year career at Central Wyoming,
Ormond shot 44 percent from beyond the arc and better than 86 percent from the stripe, highlighted by a 30-point outburst against Otero College this past November. A season-ending thumb injury cut short a promising sophomore career for the Georgia native but his early season success highlights what can be expected from a healthy Ormond.

"Last season we determined we needed to get some more physicality and size on our roster from the guard position to complement a few of our bigger guards who have been currently filling this role, and Julian fits that need perfectly." said Pearson "He will be someone who can immediately come in and defend any guard in the league, and has the athleticism and the shooting capacity to seamlessly slide into what we do offensively. Julian is another high-character and high-academic addition to our roster, and we're thrilled
to roll him out in purple and gold."

  The tallest addition of this year's class, Bystrom joins the Saints from Western Texas College, where he appeared in 25 games with 18 starts this past season. He shot 57.1 percent from the field, including 73.7 percent in conference play in the always-competitive Western Junior College Athletic Conference. Prior to his move
to the States, the Linkoping, Sweden native developed in Sweden's best professional program, the Norrkoping Dolphins.

"Viktor will immediately bring in a much-needed size addition to our roster." said Pearson "Athletically, he is a unique individual, balancing a big body and a unique vertical capacity. He will be an elite pick-and-roll player and will offer another tool in the toolbox for countering rosters that we may come across this year with size that had given us challenges in the past. Another 4.0 student being added to this roster, and we'll have a European skill set that fits with the style of play that we have had for the last two years."

  A proven scorer at every stop, Butler spent this past season at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn., after a standout two-year career at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyo. As a sophomore at LCCC, Butler poured in 18.0 points per game on 35.4 percent three-point shooting and 80.6 percent from the line, while adding 2.6 assists, 1.9 steals, and a positive assist-to-turnover ratio. He tallied over 900 career points in his two seasons with the Golden Eagles, including a
31-point performance against Gillette College.

"With the loss of Crane and Dela Cruz, there was a need for a guard who could defend in the full court and score the ball at multiple levels." said Pearson "We currently feel like we have one of the strongest backcourts in the conference, but with the dynamic play of someone like Davion, we think that our guard depth will now be over the top. Davion has been a high-volume and efficient shooter while managing great assist-to-turnover rates and steals per game at all of his stops. Davion's big bubbly personality will be an immediate favorite for the fans at the PE Center."

Ormond's teammate at Central Wyoming, Patik started all 56 games of his two-year Rustler career. This past season, he averaged 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor, adding nearly two assists and over a steal per contest — the picture of the versatile, do-everything forward.

"Simply put, Isaac is a good basketball player." said Pearson "The son of a coach, he understands the game well, and he has consistently done all the little things needed for teams to win. He's a great rebounder. He can switch on every position defensively. He plays with a high IQ and is a win-first type of culture guy. Isaac's physicality and
defensive intensity will be a much-needed addition to our group."
