Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Saints Start Hot, Pick Up 53-46 Win Over Providence

HELENA, Mont. - The No. 25-ranked Carroll Women's Basketball team bounced back from a loss in their last outing, picking up a 53-46 win over Providence on Friday evening at the CC PE Center.

The Fighting Saints (17-8, 15-4) played well in their penultimate home game of the 2025-26 season, grinding out a seven-point win over the Argonauts (15-10) to complete their first season sweep over Providence since 2022-23.

Coming off a wretched shooting night in Madison, S.D. last weekend, the Saints were on fire early. Carroll raced out to a 25-17 lead after the first quarter, with Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-SR) scoring nine and Kenzie Allen (Grantsville, Utah / JR) and Meagan Karstetter (Moses Lake, Wash. / SR) each adding six points in the frame.

Things slowed down in the second quarter, with both defenses making adjustments and tightening up. Albrecht added five more points, while Gracie Millimen (Manhattan, Mont. / R-FR) added four off the bench to help give the Saints an 11-9 advantage in the frame, and a 10-point halftime lead at 36-26.

Coming out of the half, the Carroll lead would grow to as large as 16 points at the midway mark of the frame. The Saints defense was highly-impressive over the first 6:30 of the third, holding the Argos scoreless, but a late push would narrow the Carroll advantage back to 10 points going into the fourth.

Three-pointers from Kennedi Niemann (Cody, Wyo. / R-SO) and Allen in the early stages of the fourth would give the Saints a 13-point lead two separate times, and the defense held off a late surge to close out the bounce-back win for Carroll, 53-46.

Carroll struggled from range as a whole on the night, finishing just 6-27 (22 percent) from beyond the three point line, but made up for it with nine offensive boards that equated to nine points and a defensive effort that saw the Argos finish just 2-12 from three.

Albrecht led the Saints with 14 points in the win, with Allen hot on her heels at 13, and Karstetter rounding out the double-figure scorers with 10.

Three different Saints finished the night with three steals, Albrecht, Allen, and Jillian Kanduch (Miles City, Mont. / FR).

Carroll will look to keep it rolling in tomorrow senior night battle with MSU-Northern, as the Saints aim to extend a 20-game win streak over the Skylights at 5 p.m.
