Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Carroll Women Continue Win Streak Over Skylights

HAVRE, Mont. - The (RV) Carroll Women's Basketball team picked up their 20th consecutive win over MSU-Northern on Friday night, earning a hard-fought 68-63 win at the Armory Gymnasium.

Looking to keep their unbeaten start to the 2026 calendar year alive, the Fighting Saints (12-6, 10-2) got a big-time performance from Kenzie Allen (Grantsville, Utah / JR) to keep momentum rolling and remain firmly in the hunt for the Frontier Conference crown.

The Saints have had their share of struggles knocking down shots at the Armory in recent years, and the early stages of Friday's game were no different. Carroll went 0-6 from range, finishing the frame just 5-16 from the floor while the Skylights (12-5, 8-4) shot 53 percent in the frame to carry an 18-13 lead into the second.

Allen got things rolling in the second quarter, scoring the first of what would become three-straight seven-point frames for the transfer guard, and Carroll stiffened on the defensive end to trim the Northern lead to just three at the break, 31-28.

As per usual, the Saints' halftime adjustments helped them flip the game around, as their defensive pressure ramped up, and the offense started to flow. A pair of MSU-N turnovers near the midway mark of the frame led to Carroll's first led since the opening minute, and strong play down the stretch turned the tide. Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-SR), who was held in-check for the majority of the game knocked down a three, followed by five-straight points from Avery Kraft (Helena, Mont. / R-FR) including a tough and-one at the rim late in the quarter gave Carroll a 47-45 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

The Carroll trio of Allen, Meagan Karstetter (Moses Lake, Wash. / SR), and Jillian Kanduch (Miles City, Mont. / FR) combined for 19 points while going 7-8 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter, and the Saints came away with three big steals over the closing minutes to close out the physical bout between the pair of receiving votes teams.

Allen led all players, finishing with a career-high 24 points in the win, while adding a pair of rebounds and steals. Karstetter was a key contributor in the victory as well, coming up just two boards shy of a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds. Kanduch finished another impressive all-around outing with 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block - also putting her body on the line with a momentum-shifting charge late in the game.

Following a Dakota State win over Montana Tech, the Saints now sit tied atop the Frontier standings with both the Trojans and Orediggers. They'll look to keep momentum rolling tomorrow night in the Electric City, as they take on Providence for the first time this season at 5 p.m. at the McLaughlin Center.
