Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

(RV) Saints Stay Hot, Continue Win Streak in Four Over Bulldogs

HELENA, Mont. - In front of one of the bigger crowds in recent memory, the (RV) Carroll Volleyball team picked up their second win in as many days, defeating Montana Western 25-21, 15-25, 25-18, 25-14 in Frontier Conference play Friday night at the CC PE Center.

Homecoming Weekend has treated the Fighting Saints (11-6, 6-3) well, as Friday night's four-set win over the Bulldogs gives Carroll a clean 2-0 record against in-state rivals on the week, and a four-game win streak at the exact midway point of the 2025 NAIA season.

In the opening set, the Saints came out of the gates hot. Carroll began the game on a 12-6 run, and a combined seven kills from Lauren (Helena, Mont. / JR) and Elizabeth Hueiser (Helena, Mont. / R-SR) would help close out a 25-21 win.

Nothing seemed to work in the second frame of the nights for the Carroll. The Saints had a negative attack in the frame (-.033), while the Bulldogs had far and away their best hitting set of the night (.304), cruising to a 25-15 win to even the match at 1-1.

Fortunes flipped in the third frame, however, and the Saints would get back on track. Jansyn Carrizales (Sunnyside, Wash. / JR) recorded a pair of aces in a late 6-0 run, leading Carroll to a 25-18 win to regain their advantage in the match.

The Saints never really allowed Western to get anything going in the fourth and final frame, stringing together multiple runs with production throughout the rotation while building a comfortable lead. Two straight errors from the Bulldogs sealed the deal, and Carroll closed out the match 3-1.

Elizabeth Heuiser led Carroll with 12 kills on .308 hitting, while Lauren Heuiser added 8 kills and 3 total blocks. McKaila Balcom (Pasco, Wash. / JR) finished with 6 kills, and Carrizales posted 20 assists and 3 aces . Defensively, Sofia Kimmel (Bozeman, Mont. / FR) led the Saints with 18 digs, while Norah Allen (Great Falls, Mont. / JR) and Molly O'Connor (Bozeman, Mont. / SR) each tallied 11.

Up next, the Saints will have multiple weeks of road trips, playing a pair in North Dakota next week against Bismarck State and Dickinson State, before making their final loop through the first half back in Montana against Providence and MSU-Northern.
