Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Saints Blank Geoducks, 4-0

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Carroll College erupted for four second-half goals to pull away for a 4-0 victory at Evergreen State on Friday afternoon at Geoduck Pitch.

Posting clean sheets is simply the backbone of recent success for the Carroll Men's Soccer program. The Fighting Saints (4-1-1, 2-0) kept their CCC record unbeaten with a 4-0 shutout victory over the Geoducks as they look to retain their conference crown.

After an even first half where each side tallied only three shots, the Saints took control following the halftime break.

2024 CCC Newcomer of the Year, Alfie Snow (Middlesbrough, England / JR) opened the scoring in the 57th minute off an assist from fellow Englishman, Sam Loughton (East Yorkshire, England / SR), breaking a deadlock and kick-starting a Carroll run.

Ten minutes later, Loughton doubled the lead on a close-range finish - his second goal of the season - off an assist from Enrico Paparelli (Sao Paolo, Brazil / R-SO).

The next several minutes were all Carroll, as the Saints would go on to double their 2-0 lead in a span of just five minutes of game-time.

Freshman Cyrille Wangama (Spokane, Wash. / FR) scored his first collegiate goal in the 69th minute, again assisted by the Brazilian Paparelli, while Nils Benning (Kiel, Germany / JR) put the game to bed with a 73rd minute dagger - his third of the year - to give Carroll a 4-0 lead that they would not surrender.

All said and done, Carroll outshot Evergreen 11-6, including 7-3 on frame, and held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks .

Juan Muniz Navarrete (Hermiston, Ore. / GR) was outstanding once again, posting three saves for the shutout in what was just another day at the office for the league's top keeper.

The Saints will look to make it three-in-a-row to start CCC play tomorrow afternoon, as they take on Northwest at 4 p.m.
