CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced its annual softball postseason awards. Carroll College had three student-athletes recognized for their on-field accomplishments.
The Fighting Saints had three players recognized for their outstanding contributions in the 2025 season:
Kenndy Venner (Billings, Mont. / JR / P) - First Team
Kenna Thomas (Belgrade, Mont. / SR / 2B) - First Team
Sammie Labrum (Kalispell, Mont. / JR / 1B) - Honorable Mention
Venner appeared in 23 games for the Saints, starting 21 of those contests with 17 complete games. She finished the season with a 4.53 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. In 136.0 innings of work, the right-handed Carroll ace punched out 127 batters, while allowing only 157 hits and 47 walks. Venner becomes a two-time First Team All-CCC selection, the first Carroll pitcher to accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons.
Kenna Thomas was the best Carroll bat throughout the entirety of the season, and is having a historically good season for the Saints. She led the team in nearly every hitting statistic, including batting average (.373 - career-high), OPS (1.101), hits (41), slugging percentage (.636 - career-high), on-base percentage (.465), and home runs (4). Her 1.101 OPS is the second best mark in program history, and she is just the third player in program history to finish the season with an OPS greater than 1.0.
Sammie Labrum saw her first significant field time in her career, starting 39 games at first base after spending the early portion of her career as a designated hitter. She made an instant impact, hitting .317 on the season and posting the third-best OPS on the team (.770). She had 39 hits on the season, while driving in 15 RBI.
The Saints are in Klamath Falls, Ore. competing at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, looking to capture the program's first berth in the NAIA National Championship.
