HELENA, Mont. - The Frontier Conference has announced their inaugural 2026 Softball All-Conference teams, Gold Glove team, and postseason awards. Four Fighting Saints -
Brooke Thompson,
Kennedy Venner,
Kati Slater, and Tayleynn Puyleart, garnered postseason honors following their outstanding performances throughout the 2026 season.
The Frontier Softball All-Conference Teams, Gold Glove team, and postseason awards were voted by the league coaches. The 2026 Frontier All-Conference Teams consist of 30 recipients, 20 athletes on the first team and 10 athletes on the second team.
FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE:
Brooke Thompson (Billings, Mont. / JR) - Outfield
After transferring-in over the off-season, junior left-fielder
Brooke Thompson made a splash in her first season as a Fighting Saint, finishing with one of the best offensive seasons in recent history.
Thompson led the Saints in nearly every offensive category. She led the team with 138 total plate appearances, posting a team-high .419 batting average with 52 hits - 17 of which going for extra bases including a team-best six home runs. Thompson was far and away the most impressive Carroll bat in the lineup all season, as she also led the team in on-base percentage (.464) and slugging (.661), while driving in a season-best 31 RBI's.
SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE:
Kennedy Venner (Billings, Mont. / SR) - Pitcher
The most decorated pitcher in program history,
Kennedy Venner capped her stellar four-year career with yet another All-Conference nod.
Venner finished her storied career as the program's all-time leader in strikeouts, and led her team in victories for the third-straight season (seven wins). The Carroll ace pitched 83.0 innings across 14 appearances on the season, posting a 4.22 ERA while allowing only 50 earned runs on 87 total hits. The senior punched-out a total of 103 batters on the season, the second-most in the league, averaging 8.69 strikeouts per seven innings.
Kati Slater (Yamhill, Ore. / SR) - Outfield
Wearing number eight, and playing position eight for the vast majority of the year, Slater had a terrific senior campaign on the way to her first career All-Conference honors.
Slater appeared in 35 games for the Saints, and was among the leaders in several prominent categories. She had the third-most hits on the roster (40), and RBI's as well (17). Across her 122 plate appearances, Slater slashed .364/.426/.518, with 15 extra-base hits, including a team-high 13 doubles and a pair of triples while batting in the leadoff spot in most games.
Tayelynn Puyleart (Meridian, Idaho / FR) - Catcher
Few freshman across the Frontier Conference were as impressive as Taylelynn Puyleart, who came in and got 32 starts behind the plate for the Fighting Saints in her first collegiate season.
Puyleart was solid across the board, finishing with a .969 fielding percentage, .369 batting average, .443 on-base percentage, and .528 slugging percentage - the second-highest mark on the team. She tallied 31 total hits with 10 extra-base hits (eight doubles, one triple, one homer), and had the third-most RBI's on the team with 17.
