HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Softball team will host their final regular season series of the year, as they welcome Providence to Nelson Stadium for 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. doubleheaders on both Wednesday and Thursday.

The Fighting Saints (15-23, 10-14) will look to send their five seniors back to the postseason. Standing in their way is the lone other Montana representative in the CCC, the Argonauts (8-26, 4-20).

A late-season seven-game skid for the Saints has forced their hand for this week's home finale. 

The magic number for a Carroll return to the Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship is officially two. Two wins, or any combination of Carroll wins & Warner Pacific losses this week will send the Saints to the postseason.

Entering the final week of play, the Saints control their own destiny, sitting in the sixth-and-final postseason spot with a 10-14 CCC record. Warner Pacific enters the week in the No. 7 spot with an 8-16 record, however, the Knights own a tiebreaker over the Saints by virtue of their series victory earlier this season in Helena.

Regardless, if the Saints go out and take care of business, winning two of the three conference games against the Argos, Carroll will be in.

As has been the case for the past several years, the Saints and Argos will be playing with postseason hopes for at least one team on the line. The Saints own a slim lead in the overall series dating back to 2022, having won seven of the last 12 games played. It was the Argos, however, who came away with the final two wins of the series last season in Great Falls, and Carroll will look to right the ship this year.

Kenna Thomas (Belgrade, Mont. / SR) has been outstanding at the plate in her senior campaign, leading the team in batting average (.384), hits (38), Home Runs (4), OPS (1.136), and slugging (.657). The Saints will need her to come up with one more big week in her final home series at Carroll.

Wednesday afternoon's games will mark a first in Carroll history, as the doubleheader will be broadcast throughout Montana on SWX stations state-wide. A live feed can be found for free online HERE.
