HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Softball team will return to the diamond in Nelson Stadium this weekend, hosting No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon in their second CCC series of the season. First for Friday's doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. start in game two, while Saturday's games are set for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Fighting Saints (5-7, 2-1) kicked off their CCC regular season with a bang last weekend in Helena, securing a pair of walk-off wins over then-ranked No. 16 College of Idaho last Friday before ultimately splitting the home-opening series. For the second week in a row, they'll be back inside Nelson Stadium, hosting another ranked opponent, this time the NAIA's No. 1-ranked team, the Raiders of Southern Oregon (17-1, 3-0).

The weekend series in Helena will be the first time since 2022 that the Saints have hosted the nation's top-ranked team (Oregon Tech, March 11-12, 2022).

The Cascade Collegiate Conference slate is a gauntlet of some of the nation's top teams, and the Saints are making strides towards joining a large group of consistently ranked teams. Last weekend's 2-1 conference record against College of Idaho was the first time in program history that the Saints won a three-game series over a ranked opponent.

The Saints have finished sixth in the league standings for the past two seasons, advancing to the CCC Championships, and picked up the school's first postseason win in last year's opening round.

The early-season tilt with the Raiders will be a great barometer for just how good this Carroll team can be, and could prove to be extremely important in determining postseason seeding down the road. Keeping pace with the lone undefeated CCC team in conference play will be at the top of the Carroll priority list this weekend.

The Saints have shown the ability to light up the scoreboard this season, scoring four or more runs in seven of their 12 games to this point. Sammie Labrum (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) leads the team with a .415 batting average and 17 hits, while Kenna Thomas (Belgrade, Mont. / SR) has team-highs in OPS (1.340), Home Runs (3), and RBI (10).

All four games will be streamed live HERE.
