Helena, Mont. – The Carroll College Track and Field team opens the outdoor season at the Al Manuel Invite in Missoula, Mont. on Friday March 28 and Saturday March 29.
The Fighting Saints will compete against the University of Montana, Montana State, and an assortment of athletes from other Frontier Conference Schools.
The Saints will send a total of 26 women and 22 men to the meet. This will be the opening competition for Carroll's Hammer throwers (Kayla Botkin, Tim Sellars, Christian Wolfe) and 3000m Steeplechase runners. The Steeple is only contested at certain meets this season and will be raced this weekend by Brycen Gardner, Peter Rehberger, Luke Decker, Oliver Morris, Erika Arthur, Jenna Castro, and Hannah Sempf.
Besides Gardner, who has qualified for nationals in the 3000m Steeplechase the past two years, several other previous national qualifiers will compete. Weston Means was the 2025 Indoor National Champion in the High Jump, and All-Americans Madalen Shipman (3rd Place Indoor - 600m), Tucker Monaco (6th Place Indoor - Heptathlon), and Carson Krack (8th Place Indoor - Heptathlon) will be in action in a variety of events. Additionally, Josh Smalley and Brynn Wandle have qualified for nationals previously in the Pole Vault and will jump on Saturday.
"It is always exciting to us to transition to outdoor and start putting our eyes on preparing for the Frontier Conference Championships in early May," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "We're happy to be building momentum after a strong month of training after indoor," he added.
On Friday, field events begin at 1:00 pm Mountain Time with Saints competing in the hammer. Field events begin at 10:30 am Saturday and running events will start at noon.

The Saints will host multiple home meets during the 2025 Outdoor Season: Fighting Saints Open on April 4-5, Trudnowski Open on April 17-18, and the Frontier Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 4-5.
