Helena, Mont. – A small group of Saints Track & Field athletes will attend the Riverfront Invitational in Spokane, WA on Friday February 7.
The meet takes place at The Podium, a world class indoor facility, and it will include several events that are not often contested throughout the indoor season - the 5000m and the Distance Medley Relay (DMR).
Three women will run the 5000m: Hannah Sempf, Anna Terry, and Jenna Castro. Oliver Morris, Luke Decker, and Daniel Koralewski will run the 5000m for the men. Additionally, the men will compete in the DMR with Brycen Gardner taking the leadoff 1200m leg, Peter Rehberger following up with a 400m, Wyatt Ehredt running third at 800m, and Zack Gacnik running anchor for the 1600m leg.
Additionally, NAIA National Qualifier Weston Means will compete in the High Jump. He's currently ranked 3rd in the field.
"The competition was great in Spokane the last few years, and the new facility lends itself to an exciting atmosphere," said distance coach Shannon Flynn. "While we will be chasing some national qualifying standards, we're mostly focused on getting to enjoy racing and on trying to learn from our experience," she added.
The Saints' first event will be the High Jump at 5:00 pm Pacific on Friday.
