Eleven Saints to Compete at NAIA Track & Field Indoor National Championships in Florida

Gainesville, Fla. – Eleven Fighting Saints will compete at the 2025 US Marines NAIA Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships at Alachua County Sports & Events Center on Thursday February 27 to March 1.

 

For the men, 4 individuals and 1 relay are qualified and competing. This includes Tucker Monaco (Heptathlon), Carson Krack (Heptathlon), Weston Means (High Jump), Zack Gacnik (5,000m), and the Distance Medley Relay (Brycen Gardner, Peter Rehberger, Jack Jensen, Wyatt Ehredt, Oliver Morris). For the women, Brynn Wandle (Pole Vault) and Madalen Shipman (600m) will compete. 

 

In the 600m, there will be 4 heats of 5 runners. Heat winners and the next 4 fastest times will advance to the final. Shipman will compete in Heat 4. For the Distance Medley Relay (DMR), there will be 3 heats and the top 2 finishers and next 4 fastest times will make the final. The Carroll relay will be in the 3rd heat. Finally, for the 5,000m, Gacnik will run in the 1st of 2 heats where the first 4 placers and next 4 fastest times will move on to the final Saturday.

 

Several Saints qualifiers are ranked in the Top 20 nationally: Gacnik (15th - 5,000), Means (3rd - High Jump), Monaco (2nd - Heptathlon), Krack (6th - Heptathlon), Shipman (17th - 600m) and Wandle (9th - Pole Vault). The athletes will strive to move up from or maintain their positions with goals of scoring in the Top 8 and earning All-American status.

8:00 am Decathlon (Monaco, Krack)

10:00 am Pole Vault (Wandle)

Noon 5000m Semi (Gacnik)

3:00 pm High Jump (Means)

3:45 pm Men's DMR Semi (Gardner, Ehredt, Jensen, Rehberger)

 

FRIDAY

 

8:00 am Decathlon (Monaco, Krack)

11:45 am 600m Semi (Shipman)

 

SATURDAY

 

11:25 am 600m Final (Shipman)

2:20 pm 5000m Final (Gacnik)

3:40 pm DMR Final (Gardner, Ehredt, Jensen, Rehberger)
