BUTTE, Mont. - The Carroll Volleyball team dropped the second of their two season matchups with Montana Tech on Saturday afternoon, falling in straight sets at the HPER Complex.

The Fighting Saints (15-13, 10-10) spun their wheels on Saturday afternoon, failing to get any momentum in a three set loss to the Orediggers (16-10, 12-8).

After a back-and-forth start to the match, the Orediggers broke things open with an 11-5 run in the middle portion of the opening frame. The Saints battled briefly, but another extended run in from Montana Tech would close out the set 25-16.

Carroll's best opportunity to grab a set win and get things rolling came in the second set. Tech jumped out to an early 10-4 lead, before Carroll began fighting their way back. The Saints managed to tie things up at 17-17, and eventually would work their way into a 24-22 set point lead. A trio of errors down the stretch, however, would cost Carroll the set, 26-24.

The Saints simply couldn't get anything to work in the third and final frame, hitting .000 as a team with just eight total kills to fall 25-15.

Taysa Conger (Merino, Colo. / SR) led the way for the Saints with 12 kills in the match, while both Jansyn Carrizales (Sunnyside, Wash. / JR) and Lauren Fox (Bozeman, Mont. / FR) tallied 13 assists.

The Saints will have two games at the PE Center next weekend to wrap up the 2025 regular season, hosting Bismarck State and Dickinson State on Thursday and Friday.
