SALEM, Ore. - While they didn't repeat as Cascade Collegiate Conference champions, the Carroll Men's Soccer team closed out the 2025 regular season with a bang - blowing past Corban with a four-goal outburst in the second half of Saturday's match.
With Eastern Oregon picking up a win earlier in the evening, the Fighting Saints were forced to settle for a second place finish in the '25 CCC table, but set themselves up for favorable matchups in the CCC Championship later this month with their 10-1-1 conference record.
A scoreless first half gave way in a big way in the second.
Just fame minutes into the second frame,
Pedro Teixeira (Braga, Portugal / JR) gave the Saints their breaktrough goal with an assist from
Felix Billard (Mallorca, Spain / JR).
Ten minutes after that,
Alfie Snow (Middlesbrough, England / SR)Â doubled the advantage with his seventh goal of the year featuring an assist from
Nils Benning (Kiel, Germany / JR).
Teixeira got the second goal of his brace in the 64th minute, again assisted by Billard to make things 3-0, and
Cyrille Wangama (Spokane, Wash. / FR) provided a dagger with an assist from Dallin Syvlia (Bluffdale, Utah / SO) in the 82nd minute.
Goalkeepers
Juan Muniz Navarrete (Hermiston, Ore. / GR) and
Dane Quinn (Helena, Mont. / SO) combined for the clean sheet, with Muniz Navarrete grabbing all five saves in the match.
The Saints will await final seeding results for the upcoming tournament, and can secure the league's second autobid to the NAIA Championship with either an outright tournament title - or a runner-up finish to league champion EOU in the tournament final.
