Pocatello, Idaho – Saints Track & Field opened their 2025 season with a bang at the Snake River Open at Idaho State on Thursday and Friday, snagging two National Qualifiers.
Tucker Monaco won the Heptathlon in a personal record score that moved him into 2nd All-Time for the Saints. Carson Krack made a strong debut in the same event, placing 3rd and moving into 4th on the Carroll Top 10 Lists. The duo now stand at 5th and 8th in the nation for NAIA which should qualify them for the Indoor National Championships in late February. The Top 16 men at the end of the indoor season will compete at Nationals. Monaco's performance in the pole vault set a personal record and nearly qualified him in the individual event.
Several other Saints narrowly missed qualifying marks. Weston Means placed 2nd in the High Jump, missing the NAIA B Standard by less than an inch. Brynn Wandle approached the Pole Vault B Standard within two inches in just her first season as a Saint. She placed 6th overall.
In other highlights, Abigail McBeain set a personal best in the Shot Put and moved into 5th on the Saints' Record Boards. Sorren Reese set a lifetime best in the Pentathlon, moving into 4th for the Saints. Anna Hume completed her first collegiate Pentathlon, and Christian Wolfe competed in the Weight Throw for the first time.
"I was very impressed with how we competed and am very proud of our crew," said Head Coach Harry Clark. "You couldn't ask for a better start to the season! It just was a great day to be a Saint," he added.
