Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Carroll Women Rout Multnomah, 7-0

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Carroll Women's Soccer team picked up their first Cascade Collegiate Conference win of the season, putting up 7 goals in a lopsided shutout over Multnomah on Friday afternoon.

The Fighting Saints (4-1-3, 1-0-1) picked up right where they left off on Sunday, adding seven goals to their weekly tally in a dominant performance over the Lions (3-4-2, 1-2-0).

It took a while for the goals to come, but once they did, they came in bunches.

Late in the opening half, Molly Molvig (Billings, Mont. / SR) scored to put the Saints on top, and things would pick up in a hurry.

Emily Funseth (Great Falls, Mont. / GR) scored her second goal in as many games with just seconds remaining in the first frame. Carroll would enter the half with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

In the 67th minute, Delaney Moczan (Las Vegas, Nev. / SO) scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season to give Carroll a 3-0 lead.

Deanna Lord (Cave Creek, Ariz. / JR) scored the first goal of her brace in the 73rd minute, before Ella Tollefson (Kneeland, Calif. / FR) and Sydney Coulter (Colorado Springs, Colo. / JR) added goals of their own to give the Saints a 6-0 lead before the 80th minute.

Lord capped the impressive performance with an 82nd minute goal, and Carroll would run away with the 7-0 shutout.

Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / SO) was great in net as usual, although she didn't see much work. The sophomore finished with two saves as the Carroll back line kept the Lions out of the scoring area much of the match.

A Saturday afternoon tilt with Warner Pacific is on deck for the Saints, tomorrow at 1 p.m.
