HELENA, Mont. - Head Coach Rachelle Sayers has finalized the 2024-25 Carroll Women's Basketball Schedule.
The Carroll Women's Basketball program reached new heights last season, advancing further than any other team in the 50-year history of the program. An unforgettable 2023-24 season saw the Fighting Saints claim yet another Frontier Conference Championship, a NAIA National Semifinal appearance, and the program's first NAIA Player of the Year.
The 2023-24 season is one that will not soon be forgotten, but a new era is starting for the Frontier Conference's most consistent program.
The 2024-2025 schedule features many of the same non-conference opponents from a season ago, as well as some fresh competition.
In total, the Saints will play 15 home games in the upcoming season, the same as the year prior.
Carroll will kick things off in the last week of October, hosting NCAA Division III opponent Whitworth (Wash.) on October 25, ahead of a Halloween showdown with Arizona Christian in Helena.Â
On November 1, the Saints will make a return trip to NCAA Division I opponent Montana State, following the Bobcats' trip to Helena last November.
Midway through November, Carroll will head West to Lewiston, Idaho for a pair of games against Lewis-Clark State and Eastern Oregon (Nov. 15-16), before returning to Helena for a stretch of home games.
Last season's NAIA Women's Basketball Championship Opening Round opponent, Embry-Riddle, will make a return to the PE Center (Nov. 20), followed by Bushnell (Ore.) (Nov. 25) later that week.
The 2024 Thanksgiving Classic will see Pikeville (Ky) (Nov. 29) and College of Idaho (Nov. 30) come to the PE Center to square off with the Saints and Providence in a round-robin event.
The Saints will host future Frontier-member Mayville State in Helena (Dec. 6) to begin December, before heading to Arizona for the Cactus Classic right before the holidays.
Carroll wraps up 2024 against Lakeland College (Can.), before kicking off Frontier Play in early January.
The always tough Frontier slate will be last as we know it. Starting next season, the conference will welcome five additional schools as it absorbs the North Star.
Carroll will play each of the other five current Frontier members three times in a span of two months, sprinting towards tournament season. Seven of the 15 conference games will take place in Helena, (Providence - 1, Montana Western - 1, MSU-Northern - 1, Rocky - 2, Montana Tech - 2), while Carroll will have one additional road game as part of the unbalanced league schedule.
The team officially began practices for the 2024-35 season on Sunday, and are hard at work catching newcomers up to speed, and preparing for another deep run in March.
