HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Golf teams are making their long-awaited season debut, competing at the 2024 Argo Sizzler, hosted by the University of Providence at Marias Valley Golf Club in Shelby, Mont.
The Fighting Saints are looking to build off a 2023 season that was dominated by youth on both sides of the action.
On the Women's front, the Saints return all but one player from their 2023 roster. Junior
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) and local-product
Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / SO) look to lead the charge in 2024. The pair were two of the most consistent Saints in the 2023 season, and both have the ability to go low at any point.
They'll be joined by a slew of new faces as five incoming freshmen were signed in the offseason.
Lindsay Cook (Bozeman, Mont.),
Lauren Mayala (Billings, Mont.),
Shea Reber (Havre, Mont.), and Alli &
Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho) will all look to contribute in the wrap-around 2024 season ahead.
Every player who competed at the 2023 Frontier Conference Championships in Texas last spring returns for the Carroll Men, and the young group will look to compete for the conference crown in 2024.
JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / SO),
TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / SO) and
Jackson Hammond (Scottsdale, Ariz. / FR) finished 33, 36, 37 at last year's conference tournament, and will likely lead the charge again in '24.
Joining them this season, however, is one of the largest classes of incoming talent in recent memory. Eight new Saints are in the mix in 2024, looking to push their way into the Carroll five on a weekly basis.
Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont.),
Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont.), Bryant Nguyen-Cunningham (Tualatin, Ore.), Thomas Derden (Eagle, Idaho),
Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho),
David Ramshaw (Billings, Mont.),
Noah Haffey (Missoula, Mont.), and
Leevi Bohrer (Deer Lodge, Mont.) provide plenty of depth for a Carroll side looking to make a splash this season.
Marias Valley Golf Club is the track of the week, as the men will play 6781-yard Black tees, and the Women will play the Whites at 5494 yards.
With limited cell service, live scoring is not available for the event.
