HELENA, Mont. - Head Coach David Thorvilson has announced an additional six players who have signed this spring to finalize the 2024 Carroll Women's Soccer recruiting class.
"I am excited to announce that we have finished recruiting for the 2024 class and that this group truly adds depth to every position on the field." said Thorvilson. "Fall camp will open in early August with scrimmages slated for August 12 and 13 at the newly-renovated Nelson Stadium, and we could not be more excited."
Â
The following six high school seniors will make their way to the hilltop in the early days of August, joining four prior announced incoming freshmen, and a talented group of returning Saints as Carroll looks to replicate a highly successful season on the pitch this fall.
Â
Ella Tollefson | Kneeland, Calif. | Eureka Senior High School
Â
Tollefson joins the Saints after a stellar prep career in which she was named both Team MVP and League Player of the Year in the 2022 season. As a team captain, her squad won the Humboldt/Del Norte League title three times, and were North Coast section champions three times. Her ODP team also won a Far West Regional championship. She is the daughter of Trevor Tollefson and Maria Spetzler, a four-year honor roll student who will graduate with a 4.0 GPA and intends to study Nursing at Carroll.
Â
"I chose Carroll College because it has the perfect balance of advanced academics and athletics in an awesome location." Said Tollefson
Â
"I am very excited for the addition of Ella to our team." Said Thorvilson. "She has the ability to play in an attacking role for us either in the midfield or up front and has found success at the high school, club, and ODP levels."
Â
Rachel McAllister | Brier, Wash. | Bishop Blanchet High School
Â
McAllister comes to Carroll after lettering all four years at Bishop Blanchet. In 2022, she was named All-Metro First Team and earned the Golden Boot Award for her team. In 2023 as a captain, she was again named First Team All-Metro, and earned her team's Coaches' Award. In club, she was a five-time NPL National qualifier, with her team earning fifth, third, and second place finishes. She is the daughter or Heidi and Mark McAllister, a member of the National Honors Society, and will graduate as class Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA, intending to major in Pre-Veterinary studies at Carroll.
Â
"I chose Carroll College because it is clear the team has a great bond between themselves and the coaches." said McAllister. "I love the smaller college and community where everyone seems super supportive. The smaller class sizes and opportunity to develop relationships with professors and classmates really interests me. I am looking forward to the fall!"
Â
"Rachel is an exciting addition for us and fits so many check marks, giving us depth in the attacking part of our game." Said Thorvilson. "On a side note, Rachel played her HS soccer for an Alum of our program and helped bring the connection back to Carroll."
Â
Emily Medina | Coeur D'Alene, Idaho | Lake City High School
Â
Medina joins a long list of Northern Idaho standouts to don the Purple and Gold. In high school, her team won the state championship in her sophomore season, finished runner-up in her junior season, and was a quarterfinalist in her senior year. She also played for the same club team as a trio of current Carroll standouts, and will be competing in the DPL National tournament in California later this summer. She is the daughter of Joe and Kristin Medina, and will graduate with a 3.2 GPA intending on a pre-med education at Carroll.
Â
"I chose Carroll College for the academic and athletic opportunities." Said Medina
Â
"Coeur D'Alene continues to be a good recurring area for us." Said Thorvilson. "Emily is a strong defensive minded midfielder that has already played with some of our current freshmen at the high school and club levels."
Â
Kathryn Emmert | Helena, Mont. | Capital High School
Â
A name synonymous with Saints success, Emmert will stay in Helena following a prolific prep career just down the road at Capital. She is a ten-time varsity letter-winner (Soccer, Basketball, Softball), 11-Time Academic All-Conference selection (Soccer, Basketball, Softball), 2023 All-Conference selection in Soccer, as well as a 2021 Honorable mention and 2022/23 All-State selection in Softball. The daughter of Tyler and Amy Emmert, Kathryn will join the pre-med track at Carroll after graduating with a 4.0 GPA.
Â
"I chose Carroll because they provide a holistic approach to academically and competitively support their student-athletes." Said Emmert.Â
Â
"Kathryn's high school accolades speak for themselves." Said Thorvilson "With her focus shifting to one sport at the collegiate level her growth trajectory is high."
Â
Allison Olson | Lewiston, Idaho | Lewiston High School
Â
Olson joins the Saints following a prep career in which she lettered all four years. She was a two-time Inland Empire Goalkeeper of the Year (2022 & 2023), and was an honorable mention All-State selection in 2022. Her club team took third place at Nationals. In addition to the pitch, she was a four-year letter winner in Tennis, finishing fifth in girls doubles at her state championship. She was awarded the Duane Hagadone High Character Award this season, and the AP Scholar Award as well. The daughter of Eric and Angie Olson, Allison will study Biology after graduating as class Valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA.
Â
"I chose Carroll because of the beautiful campus and the prestigious pre-med program." Said Olson. "I see Carroll as being the best fit for my future ambitions."
Â
"Allison is a multi-faceted athlete." Said Thorvilson. "She travels up to Coeur d'Alene to play club soccer and will be in the state finals for tennis this spring. She is a strong goalkeeper with room to grow and adds to an already gifted group of new and returning keepers."
Â

Sund joins the Saints following a successful high school career at Flathead. A two-year letterwinner, Sund's team took third place in the Western AA conference, and she has also competed for the Flathead Valley Soccer Club, who will be competing in the premier state tournament in Kalispell this coming weekend.
