Helena, Mont. – Fighting Saints Track & Field will compete at home for the final time this season at the Trudnowski Open on April 24-25.

In the Frontier Conference 3000m Steeplechase Championships last week, Brycen Gardner took 1st for the men and Hannah Sempf was All-Conference for the women, placing 2nd. Sorren Reese set a personal record in the Javelin, throwing the NAIA A Standard.

The Trudnowski Open will be the last regular season meet of the season for the Saints. Thirty one men and thirty seven women will compete, aiming to sharpen their skills one final time before the Frontier Conference Championship Meet on May 5-6 in Butte, Mont. Athletes from all Frontier Conference schools are expected at the meet Thursday.
The second events of the Frontier Championships, the Decathlon and Heptathlon, will be contested at the Trudnowski Open. Tucker Monaco will compete in the Decathlon against three athletes from Montana Tech. Sorren Reese, Katelyn Christensen, and Gabby Domenici will compete in the Heptathlon against two Oredigger athletes.
Another infrequently contested event will be the 4x800m Relay. The Saints will enter two men's squads and one women's team in the race.
Carroll will again be chasing NAIA Qualifying Standards and hoping to add to the list of seven individuals already qualified. This includes Zack Gacnik (10,000m A Standard, 5,000m B Standard), Brycen Gardner (3000m Steeplechase A Standard), Reuben Hornby (Javelin A Standard), Weston Means (High Jump B Standard), Sorren Reese (Javelin A Standard), Chloe Gallagher (Pole Vault B Standard), and Tucker Monaco (Decathlon).
The Decathlon and Heptathlon will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday and conclude starting at 9:00 am on Thursday. The Javelin will also be contested Wednesday at noon with other field events beginning at 11:00 am on Thursday. Carroll's graduating track & field athletes will be honored at 10:15 am on Thursday, and running events will begin at 11:00 am.
