HELENA, Mont. - Nearly a full two months into the season, the Carroll Softball team will get their first chance to play at home as they host Bushnell (Ore.) in a four game series at Centennial Park this weekend. Friday's doubleheader will be at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., with a Saturday follow-up at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Fighting Saints (3-12-1) are done being road warriors... for now. They will host the Beacons (6-13) for the first time on home soil this season.
Carroll enters the week winless in CCC play, having squared off with two of the league's, and nation's best in College of Idaho and Southern Oregon to start conference play.
Run production has been the main culprit in the Saints' slow start to the season, and they hope to change that this weekend against a Bushnell team that they swept to end the regular season in 2023.
Getting runners on base hasn't been an issue, but cashing in and getting them across home has been a struggle as of late. The Saints stranded 10 on base in their last loss, and aim to convert their opportunities at the plate this weekend.
Kennedy Venner (Billings, Mont. / SO) will likely get the early start on both days, and has been effective at limiting runs over her eight starts on the year.
Both games will be streamed live on the
Fighting Saints Network - presented by Point S Tire & Auto Service.
