HELENA, Mont. - The Frontier Conference has announced the winners of its weekly individual awards.
Jamie Pickens of Carroll College has once again been named the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Pickens is a six-foot, two-inch forward from Helena, Mont.
For the second-consecutive week, and fifth time in total on the season,
Jamie Pickens has garnered the weekly Frontier Conference honor.
In wins over No. 14 Providence and Montana Tech, Pickens averaged 21.0 points per game, as well as 13.0 rebounds per game, leading the way for her team as the Fighting Saints clinched the outright Frontier Conference championship, their fifth title in the last seven years.
Pickens is putting together one of the most impressive seasons in the 50-year history of the Carroll Women's program. She recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the pair of wins, bringing her season total to 19.
The Carroll record book has been shuffled around quite a bit in recent years, and Pickens name appears all over the list of Carroll greats. She sits second in program history in points, rebounds, as well as blocked shots. With two more scheduled games, plus tournament contests approaching, Carroll fans have several opportunities left to witness one of the most impactful players in program history.
The Saints will head to Billings, Mont. for their final matchup of the season with Rocky Mountain College on Thursday, before returning to Helena for a senior night game against MSU-Northern that will feature a rare 4 p.m. tip-off.
