HELENA, Mont. - The Frontier Conference has announced the winners of its weekly individual awards. For the first time this season, both the Men's and Women's Player of the Week are both Carroll student-athletes. Andrew Cook was named the Erck Hotels Men's Basketball Player of the Week, and Jamie Pickens was named the Erck Hotels Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Jamie Pickens is a six-foot, two-inch forward from Helena.

At this point in the season, Pickens has established herself as the clear-cut favorite to repeat as Frontier Conference Player of the Year. 

Pickens had another monster statistical week, averaging 22.0 points per game and 15.0 rebounds per game in a pair of wins over MSU-Northern and Montana Western last week.

Saturday against Montana Western, Pickens provided one of the best individual stat lines in program history, scoring 31 points and pulling down 19 rebounds in Carroll's 77-73 overtime win over the Bulldogs.

A double-double machine, Pickens has now won the Frontier Player of the Week honors four times on the season.

Andrew Cook is a six-foot, four-inch guard from Huntington Beach, Calif.

Much like his counterpart on the Women's side, Cook has emerged as one of, if not the best player in the Frontier Conference.

For the third time in four weeks, Cook garnered Player of the Week honors. Cook averaged 21.0 points per game, as well as 6.5 rebounds per game in a pair of wins for the Fighting Saints. His strong play has helped secure at least an opening round bye at the upcoming Frontier Conference tournament, as well as kept the Saints in contention for the Frontier Conference regular season title.

Both Cook and Pickens, as well as their respective teammates, are hard at work preparing for a third showdown with Providence this Thursday at the Carroll College PE Center in Helena.
