Defensive Player of the Week: Willa Albrecht, Carroll
Albrecht, a senior guard from Billings, Mont., was chosen as the Frontier Defensive Player of the Week.
Albrecht was all over the court in a pair of Carroll home victories, averaging 8.0 defensive rebounds per game as well as 3.0 steals and 3.5 blocks per game.
She stole the ball six times and registered four blocks in the Fighting Saints 71-45 victory over Bushnell (Ore.). She followed up that impressive performance with three more blocks in Carroll's 57-43 win over College of Idaho on Saturday.
The preseason All-Conference selection had plenty of reason to have been named Offensive Player of the Week as well, scoring a career-high 30 points against Bushnell, before following it up with a 15-point performance against the Yotes on Saturday.
This is Albrecht's first career Erck Hotels/Frontier Conference Player of the Week award.
Albrecht and the Saints are hard at work preparing for a Friday evening showdown with No. 18-ranked Mayville State at the PE Center at 7 p.m.
