HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Men's Soccer team will play their first-ever second round game of the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship this afternoon against site-host and No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan at 11 a.m. in Bartlesville, Okla.
The message to the Fighting Saints (15-3-3) is clear this weekend. Win and move on.
Carroll will have a shot at the biggest win in program history this afternoon as they take on the No. 2-ranked Eagles (20-1) with a spot in the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship Final Site on the line.
The Saints picked up a win in their first tournament appearance in school history, knocking off Hope International 3-1 on Thursday evening to advance in the bracket.
Saturday's opponent, OKWU enters the match riding a 19-game win-streak that dates all the way back to August.
The Eagles are a high-powered offense, as they enter the game with an average of 4.14 goals per game, and have four players with 10 or more goals on the season. Pol Mur is the top scoring threat, entering the match with 15 goals on the season.
On the other side, Carroll boasts a 15-goal scorer of their own in CCC Offensive Player of the Year
Felix Billard. Billard scored once and added an assist in the first round win and will look to keep the momentum rolling this afternoon against the Eagles.
CCC Goalkeeper of the Year Juan Muniz Navarrete (Hermiston, Ore. / SR) will likely be relied on more heavily than he's used to, but the nation's No. 2 goalie in save percentage and goals against average will be ready for the challenge.
The winner of today's second round match will advance to the NAIA Men's Soccer Championship Final Site in Wichita, Kan.
First touch for the match is slated for 11 a.m. (MST), and a live stream can be found
