KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the latest edition of its NAIA Football GoRout Top 25 Ratings. Carroll College appears on the weekly ranking at No. 23 in the nation.
The Fighting Saints (7-2, 6-1) fell nine spots in the weekly coaches' poll, following a loss at No. 4 Montana Western on Saturday.
Carroll still remains tied atop the Frontier Conference standings with Montana Western, with only one conference loss.
Two other Frontier schools appear on the list, No. 14 Southern Oregon, who the Saints beat just two weeks ago, and No. 8 Montana Tech, this week's opponent.
Saturday's game in Butte will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools, with the first game having been played as a non-conference contest back in September.
The Saints will end their season having played teams ranked inside the Top-12 of the NAIA Poll in each of the final four weeks of the regular season, two of which ranked No. 8 in the nation (SOU, Montana Tech).
This is the 212th week since 1997 that the Fighting Saints have appeared inside the NAIA Top-25, the most of any Frontier Conference school.
This is the first time since the 2022 season Carroll has held the No. 23 spot in the poll (10/31/222 - Week 8).
Rating Methodology:
- The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league or division.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place, 23 for third-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
