HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team dropped a four set match to Providence on Friday night at the PE Center.

The Fighting Saints (16-11, 4-9) couldn't dig themselves out of a two set hole on Friday, falling to the No. 14-ranked Argos (21-6, 10-3) in four sets.

Providence took set number one 25-23, sneaking by after a late Carroll rally. The Argos had 15 kills in the set.

The second set saw the Argos come out on top again by another close margin, 25-22. Providence went over .200 in the frame, with 17 team kills to take the two-set advantage.

The Fighting Saints fought back and kept the match alive, winning the third set 25-21. Carroll had a match high 18 kills in the set, posting a .296 hitting percentage as team.

Unfortunately for the Saints, Providence sealed the game with a 25-14 win in the fourth and final set, hitting a match high .273 in the process.

Elizabeth Heuiser (Helena, Mont. / SR) led the Saints in kills with 13. Taysa Conger (Merino, Colo. / JR) and Sidney Gulick (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) each posted 9 kills in the match.

Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / Grad) led the Saints in digs with 32, adding to her NAIA-leading digs per set mark.

Cabri Taylor was outstanding at the net, recording eight blocks for the Argos while Bella Thompson led all players with 54 assists.

The Fighting Saints fall to 4-9 in Frontier Conference play, 16-11 overall.

With just two games remaining in the 2024 regular season, the Saints will head to Billings for a showdown with Rocky Mountain College on Thursday.
