HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team topped Rocky Mountain College in a five-set thriller on Thursday night at the PE Center.

The Fighting Saints (15-7, 3-5) came out on top, eventually earning the 3-2 win after a hard-fought comeback.

Carroll got the start they were looking for, taking the first set 25-18, while hitting a match-high .293 in the process.

Rocky flipped the script in sets two and three winning 25-21 and 25-18, respectively. The Battlin' Bears hit over .200 in both set.

Carroll evened out the match with a a very-tightly contested 25-23 win in the fourth set, totaling 17 kills along the way.

The rubber match fifth frame went the way of the Saints, albeit tighter than desired, as Carroll pulled out a big-time 15-13 win to close out the match with 10 out of 15 points coming off of kills.

The Fighting Saints get their third Frontier Conference win of the season, setting the tone for what is shaping up to be a sprint towards the finish, and improve to 15-7 overall.

Elizabeth Heuiser (Helena, Mont. / R-JR) led the Saints in kills with 15. Taysa Conger (Merino, Colo. / JR) also recorded 13 kills.

NAIA digs per set leader Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / Grad) led the Saints in digs for the ninth-straight game with 35.

Rocky Mountain was led by Makenna Bushman, who led all players with 21 kills in the loss.

Up next, the team takes on Montana Tech in Butte, Mont. Saturday, for their second of three meetings on the season.
